Materials & Process Engineer at Bolt Threads

Anaïs Passera has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Anaïs began their career in 2018 as an Msc Internship Assistant-project manager at CNC Grondstoffen. Anaïs then moved on to Wageningen University & Research where they worked as a Research Assistant in Soil Physics & Land Management from October 2019 to May 2020.

In 2019, Anaïs also joined Grown.bio as a Research Developer, where they worked until January 2022. During their time at Grown.bio, they gained experience in research and development.

From January 2022 to January 2023, Anaïs worked at Circulus as an Advisor Circular Waste Solutions. Anaïs'srole involved integrating waste management into circular economy models and developing circular recycling systems for E-Waste. Anaïs also participated in the raw materials alliance Cirkelwaarde, focusing on improving the quality of waste streams and exploring the sustainability impact of organic waste processing.

Currently, Anaïs is working at Bolt Threads as a Materials & Process Engineer, starting in January 2023.

Anaïs Passera earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Future Planet Studies from the University of Amsterdam between 2013 and 2016. In 2015, they also participated in a Global Exchange Program at The University of Auckland, where they completed a Bachelor's degree. From 2016 to 2018, Anaïs pursued a Master's degree in Organic Agriculture at Wageningen University & Research. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in Circular Economy & Sustainable Strategies from the University of Cambridge in April 2022, and WSET level 2 from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in December 2021.
