The BOMA Project is a U.S. nonprofit and Kenyan NGO that implements a two-year poverty graduation program in Northern Kenya, building the resiliency of women living in extreme poverty so they can feed their children, pay for school fees and medical care, invest in their families, and survive shocks such as drought or medical emergencies. Since 2009, BOMA has established 5,223 sustainable businesses and 837 savings groups, changing the lives of 15,697 women and more than 78,485 children. Our goal is to scale our program across the African drylands and change the lives of 100,000 women and children by 2018 and 1 million women and children by 2022.
