Bijender Kumar MD FACP MBA CHCQM has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Their most recent role is as the Chairman of the Clinical Integrated Oversight Committee since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Bon Secours Mercy Health from April 2022. Bijender also has experience in the United States Air Force as a Major and Flight Surgeon since October 2020. Bijender has held academic positions as an Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine since August 2011. Additionally, they have served as the Medical Director at Hancock Regional Hospital from July 2016 to May 2020. Bijender Kumar MD FACP MBA CHCQM completed their education in a sequential manner. Bijender obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Medical Science from DAV college in 1995. Subsequently, they pursued their medical studies and obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Pt. B D S University of Health Sciences between 1995 and 2000. Bijender then went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Internal Medicine from Mercy St Vincent Medical Center from 2007 to 2010. In 2014 to 2016, they pursued a Business of Medicine MBA degree from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, focusing on healthcare. In 2017 to 2018, they continued their education in the field of physician leadership, completing the Physician Leadership Series from Suburban Health Organization. Additionally, they have obtained certifications, including the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP) certification in Healthcare Quality Management. Currently, they are studying Flight Medicine at the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, with an expected completion date in 2022.
