Hillary Gilfand has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Hillary began their career in 1987 at AC Nielsen as an Account Manager, where they worked until 1997. After that, they joined Sun Microsystems as a Sales Admin from 2000 to 2002. Following this, they joined mike's hard lemonade as a National Chains Sales Analyst from 2004 to 2006. Hillary then worked at MillerCoors as a Client Service Manager-Nielsen from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, they joined Pepsi Bottling Group as Manager, Cold Vault until 2010. From 2010 to 2019, they rejoined MillerCoors as a Space Analyst and later as a Learning and Development Specialist. Currently, they are working as a Sales Strategy Analyst at Bona since 2021.

Hillary Gilfand attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1979 to 1983. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing. Afterward, in 1997, they enrolled at Northern Illinois University, where they completed their education in 1998. There, they earned a Master of Science in Education.
