Douglas Brown is an Advanced Trainee in Addiction Medicine at Metro North Health since August 2023, currently serving as a trainee representative to the AChAM committee and working in various clinical settings, including inpatient withdrawal units and hospital consultation liaison services. Since June 2015, Douglas has held the position of Squadron Leader as a Specialist Reservist Medical Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force, focusing on occupational and addiction medicine. Additionally, Douglas has been involved in academia as a Lecturer and Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland and an Adjunct Senior Teaching Fellow at Bond University since July 2018. Douglas also serves as a Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice for Serco and has experience as a General Practitioner with Growlife Medical. Douglas’s educational qualifications include an Advanced Trainee in Addiction Medicine, FRACGP from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Master of Health Leadership and Management from UNSW, a Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of London, and a Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Medical Studies from Bond University.
