Stephanie Smith

Stephanie Smith serves as an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of East Asia Security and an Advisory Board Member for AFL Asia since December 2023. As a Trade and Investment Commissioner for Greater China at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) since July 2019, Stephanie leads the education sector strategy for Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Prior roles include Global Engagement Manager for Agribusiness, Food & Consumer, and Senior Advisor on Free Trade Agreements at Austrade, along with various positions at Bond University, including Guest Lecturer in Political Economy focusing on free trade agreements. Additional experience encompasses significant roles at AustCham Shanghai and Queensland Treasury. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of International Relations (Business) from Bond University, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia, and completed studies at Fudan University.
