Bonita House
Julia Nelson is a dedicated mental health professional with experience as a Crisis Clinician at Bonita House since May 2023. Previously, Julia served as a School Social Worker for the Oakland Unified School District from October 2022 to May 2023 and as a Therapist at Council for Relationships from August 2021 to May 2022. Additional roles include Contact Tracer at Penn Medicine from August 2020 to May 2021 and Program Manager at A Home Within from May 2019 to November 2020. Julia also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of San Francisco, focusing on appeal cases of individuals in San Quentin State Prison, and served as a Teaching Assistant for Neuroscience and General Psychology. Julia holds a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania (2020-2022) and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco (2015-2019).

Bonita House, Inc., (BHI) is a private non-profit mental health agency offering a range of services for adults diagnosed with co-occurring serious psychiatric disabilities and substance use disorders, including intensive residential treatment, supported independent living programs, housing and supported employment, outpatient case management and clinic services. Our outpatient day rehabilitation program works both with adults who have single mental health diagnosis as well as those who are dual-diagnosed.
