Shannon Barnes

Shannon Barnes has a long and varied work experience. Shannon began their career in 1997 as the Director of Licensee Operations at Tully's Coffee, where they also served as the Director of Training and Development. From 2003 to 2007, Barnes was an Adjunct Faculty member at Central Washington University. In 2005, they joined Coldwater Creek as the Divisional Vice President of Human Resources, where they were responsible for the HR Shared Services functions. Shannon also served as the Director of Organizational Change and Effectiveness. In 2007, Barnes became an Adjunct Faculty member at Gonzaga University. From 2014 to 2016, they were the People Business Partner- North America at Insights, where they developed and implemented the HR Strategy. Finally, from 2016 to 2017, Barnes served as the Director of Human Resources at Kaniksu Health Services. In 2017, they became the Chief Human Resources Officer at Bonner General Health, where they manage all aspects of Human Resources and leads a team of HR professionals.

Shannon Barnes has an extensive educational background. In 1985, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from the University of Washington. In 1991, they earned a Washington State Teaching Certificate from Gonzaga University in Secondary Education. In 2001, they completed their Master's degree (M.S.) in Organization Development from Central Washington University. Shannon also holds several certifications, including a Mediation Certification from the Dispute Resolution Center of King County (obtained in March 2004), a Certified Quality Manager/Organizational Excellence Certification from ASQ (obtained in March 2009), a Change Management certification from Prosci (obtained in October 2007), an Advanced Change Management certification from Prosci (obtained in November 2009), an Insights Discovery certification from Insights (obtained in July 2012), and an SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM (obtained in June 2016).
