Summer Laurie

Summer Laurie is an experienced independent children's book editor with a career spanning from 1997 to the present. Currently serving as an independent Children's Book Editor at SDL Edits since 2007, Summer also holds positions as an Acquisitions and Editorial Consultant at Blue Dot Kids Press and Children's Editor at The Collective Book Studio. Active in the literary community, Summer has been a member of the Booksellers Advisory Council for the American Booksellers Association and has contributed to children's programming at San Francisco's Litquake festival since 2006. Summer established the Wild Girls Mother-Daughter Book Club in 2008 and leads a monthly critique group for children's book writers and illustrators. With prior roles including Sr. Editor at Tricycle Press and Asst. Editor at Chronicle Books, Summer holds a BA in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
