Richard Genthner

Lead DevOps Engineer at Boost

Richard Genthner has extensive work experience in the field of DevOps engineering. Richard is currently working as the Lead DevOps Engineer at Boost since November 2021. Prior to that, they were employed at Oddball from July 2020 to October 2021, where they worked as a DevOps Engineer.

From 2017 to 2020, Richard worked at MakerBot, initially serving as the Sr Lead DevOps Engineer, where they focused on streamlining processes, developing workflows, and deployment strategies. Later, they were promoted to the role of Director of DevOps, where they had responsibilities such as building a strong DevOps team, handling hiring, and working towards a 100% deployment strategy.

Before joining MakerBot, Richard worked as a Sr DevOps Engineer at When I Work from February 2016 to August 2017. During their time there, they automated systems, scaled databases and PHP applications, and led the migration to Docker control and deployed services.

Richard also has experience as a Consultant at FreeSWITCH Solutions LLC in 2017, where they worked on VoIP solutions and customer applications. As a Founder of STBTX from 2015 to 2016, Richard established an online local government payment service. At CenturyLink Cloud from September 2015 to February 2016, they served as a Senior System Engineer, bridging the gap between engineers and clients.

Earlier in their career, Richard worked at Symplicity Corporation from June 2009 to September 2015 as a Senior System Administrator. Their responsibilities included managing servers, networks, and working with SAN configurations. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a DevOps engineer at Flowroute Inc., focusing on cloud migration and developing tools using Flask and Python. Additionally, Richard gained experience as a Network and System Engineer at B and B Communications from July 2008 to May 2009, where they performed network setup and maintenance, as well as help-desk support for clients.

Throughout their career, Richard Genthner has acquired valuable skills in DevOps engineering, automation, scaling databases and applications, cloud migration, and team management.

Richard Genthner attended Medomak Valley High School from 1996 to 2001, where they completed their high school education. After high school, they pursued higher education at Central Maine Community College from 2004 to 2006, achieving an Associate's degree in Computer Technology. Richard then went on to enroll at Rochester Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2008, earning a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
