John Sweeney

John Sweeney is an experienced professional in the food and sustainability sectors, currently serving as the Head of Product Sustainability at Boots UK since August 2017, where responsibilities include leading initiatives for sustainable health and beauty products. Previously, John held positions such as Senior Manager Food, overseeing technical, new product development (NPD), and commercial management, as well as roles at FOOD UTOPIA as Head of Technical and at 2 Sisters Food Group as Head of Technical and Head of Technical Development. Early in John's career, multiple positions were held at Northern Foods, including Technical Services Manager and Process Development Manager, along with a tenure at Samworth Brothers as Process Development Manager. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Food Science from the University of Reading and a Higher National Diploma in Industrial Microbiology from the Institute of Technology, Carlow.
