Ruth Mello

Ruth Mello has a strong background in environmental health and safety, with over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles. Ruth is currently serving as the VP of HSE&Q at Borealis since October 2023. Prior to this, they worked at GSK for 10 years, where their roles included VP of EHS for Global Supply Chain, Director of EHS BSM & RHIV Supply Chains, and Director of EHS. Before joining GSK, they were the Director of EHS at Teva Canada in 2013. Earlier in their career, Ruth worked at Golder Associates as an Associate and then as a Group Manager, focusing on EHS compliance and management. Ruth also gained experience as an Environmental Consultant at Bureau Veritas and began their career as a Trainee Chemical Engineer at Bayer.

Ruth Mello earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense, completing their studies from 1993 to 1997. Ruth also achieved a Diploma in Health and Safety Engineering from the same university from 1999 to 2000.
