Cary Acosta Psy.d.

Cary Acosta, Psy.D. has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. They most recently served as the Director of Behavioral Health at Borinquen Health Care Center since 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at Jackson Health System Corrections Health Services, including Director of Mental Health Services from 2018 to 2022, Chief Psychologist for a brief period in 2018, and Licensed Clinical Psychologist 2 from 2016 to 2018.

Before joining Jackson Health System, Cary Acosta was the Chief Postdoctoral Fellow in Health Psychology at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital from 2015 to 2016. They also worked as a Clinical Psychology Intern at the same institution from 2014 to 2015.

Prior to their time at University of Miami, Cary Acosta gained experience as a Clinical Psychology Extern at VA Health Care Systems from 2013 to 2014, Adjunct Professor at Carlos Albizu University from 2012 to 2014, and Clinical Psychology Extern at Biscayne Institutes for Health and Living from 2012 to 2013. Cary first attended the University of Miami from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Following this, from 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master's Degree in Psychology at Albizu University - Miami Campus. Finally, from 2010 to 2015, Cary Acosta attended Albizu University - Miami Campus again, where they obtained a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology.
