Phil Coles

Executive Director, Performance at Boston Celtics

Phil Coles is the current Executive Director of Performance at the Boston Celtics. Prior to this, they were with the Liverpool Football Club from 2010 to 2012 as the Head of the Physical Therapy Department. Phil has also worked with the Football Federation Australia from 2006 to 2010, first as the Head Physiotherapist for the Australian National Football team and then as the High Performance Coordinator / Senior Physiotherapist. From 2014 to 2018, they were with the San Antonio Spurs as the Director of Performance and Medical Department. Prior to that, they were with the Newcastle Knights Rugby League from 2012 to 2014 as the Head of Medical Services.

Phil Coles has a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney. Phil also has a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie University. Phil is certified by Exercise & Sports Science Australia as an Accredited High Performance Manager, by the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association as an Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach, and by the Australian Physiotherapy Association as a Titled Sports Physiotherapist.
