Stanton Wortham is a seasoned academic with extensive experience in education, currently serving as the Donovan Dean at the Lynch School of Education at Boston College since July 2016. Prior to this role, Stanton held various positions at the University of Pennsylvania from July 1998 to June 2016, including the Judy & Howard Berkowitz Professor of Education, Professor, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Stanton began the academic career as an Assistant Professor at Bates College from September 1993 to July 1998. Stanton earned a PhD in Human Development from the University of Chicago between 1985 and 1992 and a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from Swarthmore College from 1981 to 1985.
