Benjamin Swilling

Benjamin Swilling is a highly experienced robotics professional with a career spanning over 20 years. Since February 2018, Benjamin has been at Boston Dynamics, currently serving as Staff Roboticist and Associate Director of Spot Robotics Software, previously holding roles as Technical Manager for Spot Mobility & Behavior and Senior Roboticist. Prior to this, Benjamin spent four years at Google as a Senior Roboticist. Benjamin's career began at Boston Dynamics in September 2005 as an Advanced Robotics Engineer and includes experience as a Grad Student in the Biomechatronics Group and as an Intern at the Center for Automation Technologies. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
