Bill Shearstone has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Bill began their career as a Communications Officer in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 2004. Bill then joined the United States National Security Agency as an Information Systems Security Engineer, where they developed Information Assurance architecture and conducted risk assessments for satellite communications networks.
In 2007, Bill Shearstone moved to MIB Group, Inc. as the Manager of IT Security and Networking. Bill led a team of Information Security and Network Engineers, overseeing the security infrastructure and providing guidance on newly developed applications and IT security strategies. Bill also managed the data center and network services during their tenure.
In 2019, Bill Shearstone joined Boston Energy Trading and Marketing as the Director of Information Security. Bill leads the Information Security program with a focus on risk management and the implementation of advanced security technologies. Bill also develops and analyzes information security metrics to enhance the security program's effectiveness.
Throughout their career, Bill Shearstone has obtained several certifications, including CISSP, CCSP, and CEH. Bill has a deep understanding of security best practices and has successfully implemented various security initiatives in different organizations.
Bill Shearstone obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Management Information Systems from Bridgewater State University in the years 1990 to 1995. Bill then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Management Information Systems at Western New England College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
In terms of certifications, Bill Shearstone obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2 in April 2005. Bill later earned the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification in April 2009. Most recently, Bill successfully achieved the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification from ISC2 in September 2017.
