Tom Green has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Tom started their career in the US Navy as an Electricians Mate from 1983 to 1989. Tom then worked for the City of Pasadena as a Substation Operator and Power Dispatcher from 1989 to 1997, where they were responsible for monitoring substations, managing power systems, and writing switching orders.

In 1997, Tom joined Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) as a Power Dispatcher for a year before moving on to Edison Mission Energy in 1998. At Edison Mission Energy, they held various roles including Energy Prescheduler, Director of Market Operations, Director Settlement Operations, Program Director of Asset Management, and Director Dispatch Operations across different periods. Their responsibilities included managing market operations, real-time generation fleet operations, asset management, and settlements and scheduling support.

Moving to Boston Energy Trading and Marketing (BETM) in 2014, Tom held positions such as Director of Dispatch Operations and later became the Director of Operations. In their recent role as the Vice President of Operations, they oversaw the BETM Operations department, developed processes to meet client needs effectively, and created reporting tools for critical data communication with third-party clients.

Tom Green attended US Navy Nuclear Power School in 1984, where they studied Nuclear Physics for one year. Tom did not obtain a degree during this period. In 2012, they obtained a certification as a PJM Certified Generation System Operator from PJM Interconnection.
