David Rodriguez has worked in the IT and security fields since 2009. From 2009-2022, they worked as a Network and Systems Administrator at the University of South Carolina. In this role, they were responsible for creating security policy, guidelines, and best practices, as well as SSV (secure system verification) for the Tricare Military Health System. David also served on multiple committees, including the Fellowship Review Committee and the Data Procedures Advisory Committee. In 2007, they began working as an IT Consultant for TeamIA, where they provided advanced technology solutions for systems integration, workflow solutions, enterprise content management, and business process re-engineering. In 2022, they began working as the Director of Information Technology and Security, Facility Security Officer at Boston Fusion.

David Rodriguez has an extensive educational background. David began their educational journey in 1999, when they obtained an Application Programming Certificate from Midlands Technical College. David then attended the University of South Carolina, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2000 and a Master of Library & Information Science in 2002. In 2013, they returned to the University of South Carolina to pursue Graduate Studies in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, which they completed in 2016. From 2014 to 2018, they obtained several IT Security certifications from the System Administration, Networking, and Security Institute, including SEC401: Security Essentials, SEC503: Intrusion Detection In-Depth, SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling, MGT512: SANs Security Leadership Essentials for Managers, SEC501: Advanced Security Essentials - Enterprise Defender, SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking, and AUD507: Auditing & Monitoring Networks, Perimeters & Systems Contents. David also obtained an Information Assurance Specialization Certificate from the University of South Carolina and a National Training Standard for Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Professionals, CNSS 4011 in 2014. Additionally, they have obtained a Learning Kubernetes certification from LinkedIn in February 2022.
