Jen Hughes

Medical Laboratory Scientist at Boston Heart Diagnostics

Jen Hughes has extensive experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. Jen started their career at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2005, where they rotated between campuses and performed various tests such as CBCs, coagulation tests, urinalysis, and bone marrows. Jen also worked in the Flow Cytometry department analyzing body fluids and tissues. Jen then joined Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in 2008 before moving to UMass Memorial Medical Center in 2009. At UMass, they initially worked in the Core Chemistry Laboratory and later transitioned to the Hematology Laboratory, where they performed CBCs, differentials, coagulation tests, and body fluids. Jen also worked in the Rapid Response Laboratory for STAT samples. Currently, Jen is employed at Boston Heart Diagnostics since 2012, where they are involved in all aspects of the testing process and operates UPLC instruments in the COQ10 department.

Jen Hughes obtained their Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Jen attended the university from 2001 to 2005. In addition, Jen Hughes obtained certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in August 2005.
