Velleda C. Miragias is a highly accomplished cellist and music educator with extensive experience in various prestigious organizations. Currently serving as faculty at the International Academy of Music Festival since December 2023, Velleda holds prominent roles including Principal Associate at the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Assistant Cellist at the Cape Symphony. Additional performances as a cellist are noted with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and Boston Baroque, alongside a substitute position with the Boston Lyric Opera. Velleda's teaching contributions include adjunct instructorship at Phillips Exeter Academy and coaching at The Rivers School. Education includes a Master's degree in Cello performance from Boston University and multiple superior first prizes from esteemed French conservatories, complemented by performance diplomas from Indiana University Bloomington.
