Sarah Zaphiris

Sarah Zaphiris serves as the Chief of Staff and Strategy at Boston Public Library since November 2021. Previously, Sarah held several senior roles at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, including Chief Administrative Officer and Deputy Registrar for Operations, where significant achievements included leading agency turnaround efforts, managing substantial technology contracts, and developing key policies related to transportation and customer outreach. During a tenure with the Office of Thomas M. Menino as Deputy Chief of Staff, Sarah coordinated public events and managed the mayor’s schedule, while earlier as a Policy Advisor, Sarah promoted energy management initiatives that garnered national recognition for Boston. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and an A.B. in Government from Harvard College.
