Ali Tawawalla

Ali Tawawalla, CFA, FRM, currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Boston University, teaching a graduate course on Derivative Securities & Markets since September 2022. As Managing Partner at AT Consulting Services, LLC since June 2017, Ali specializes in risk oversight and governance with a focus on derivative practices and operational transformation in trade lifecycle management. Previously, as Head of Product Development at 9th Gear, Ali implemented product strategies on a blockchain platform, including FX and invoice netting functionalities. From August 2007 to May 2017, Ali held significant roles at John Hancock Financial Services, where responsibilities included leading global derivative risk oversight for a $400B portfolio and establishing a derivative middle office infrastructure. Additionally, early career experience includes positions at John Hancock and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. Ali holds a BA in Psychology and Economics from Eckerd College and an MS in Finance from Boston College.
