Anthony M. Alamia

Anthony M. Alamia currently serves as the Assistant Director of Emergency Management at Boston University, a position held since October 2023. Prior to this role, Alamia was employed by the City of Boston as Project Director for the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program and also worked as a Regional Emergency Management Planner in the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management. Alamia's experience includes managing the census enumeration in various Boston neighborhoods as a Census Field Manager for the U.S. Census Bureau and serving as a research assistant in urban planning at Boston University. Alamia began a career in academia at Wentworth Institute of Technology with multiple roles, including Assistant Director of Student Achievement, earning the President’s Award for Service to Faculty in 2014. Educational qualifications include a Master of City Planning from Boston University and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Northeastern University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from SUNY Plattsburgh.
