James Grady

James Grady is an accomplished graphic design professional with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as Principal at Design Axl since August 2017 and holding the position of Assistant Professor and Lecturer at Boston University, Grady has developed a strong pedagogical foundation alongside a robust portfolio. Notable past roles include Lead Designer at Fathom Information Design, where Grady led projects for high-profile clients such as Google and Nike. Additionally, teaching engagements at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology focused on Information Design and Visualization, demonstrating expertise in interactive design methodologies. Grady holds an MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BFA in Digital Media/Photography from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
