Kevin Tuohey

Kevin Tuohey serves as the Chief Safety Officer at the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories at Boston University since January 2020. Prior to this role, Kevin held multiple leadership positions at Boston University and Boston Medical Center from 1995 to 2020, including Executive Director of Research Compliance and Operations & Public Safety, as well as Director of General Services. Kevin's extensive experience in healthcare security includes a decade-long tenure with the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety, where Kevin served on the Board of Directors and was President in 2018. Additionally, Kevin contributed to health guidelines as a member of the Health Guidelines Revision Committee for the Facility Guidelines Institute from 2011 to 2017. Kevin's career began at University Hospital, where responsibilities included managing environmental, facilities, food, parking, and security services from 1981 to 1994. Kevin holds a degree from Northeastern University, which was completed between 1979 and 1984.
