Co-founder and CEO at Boston Venture Studio

Paul English has had a diverse work experience throughout their career. Paul co-founded Boston Venture Studio in 2022, where they currently serve as the CEO. The studio focuses on launching consumer technology companies. In the same year, they also co-founded Deets and serves as the CTO.

In 2017, Paul founded Embrace Boston with the aim of creating a new memorial to Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King. The organization also continues the work they started.

Paul has a background in founding and directing healthcare organizations. Paul founded Xiangqi.com, a Chinese Chess platform, in 1997. Paul was also a co-founder of Summits Education, a non-profit organization that focuses on improving education in Haiti's central plateau.

From 2003 onwards, Paul served as the Director of Partners in Health, an organization dedicated to providing healthcare to impoverished communities. Paul was also the Director of Village Health Works, a community-driven healthcare organization in rural Burundi.

Throughout their career, Paul has also been involved in the technology sector. Paul co-founded Moonbeam, a podcast player powered by ML, and served as the CEO until it was sold in July 2022. Paul was the founder of GetHuman, a platform that connects customers with real humans for customer service issues. Additionally, Paul co-founded Lola.com, a business travel and spend management software company that was acquired by Capital One in 2021.

Overall, Paul English has had a wide range of experiences as a founder, CEO, director, and co-founder in various industries, including technology, healthcare, and education.

Paul English has an Honorary Doctorate of Science degree in Computer Science from UMass Boston. Paul also holds a BA/MS degree in Computer Science from UMass Boston. Prior to their university education, Paul attended the Boston Latin School, where they did not pursue a specific degree.
