Richard Williams, PhD has a diverse work experience. In 2004, they started their career as a Customer Services Advisor at Halifax, where they were responsible for handling all complaints/complex cases within the department and served as departmental Training Partner. In 2009, they moved to Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) as a Software Engineer. From 2012 to 2015, they worked at the University of Liverpool as a Demonstrator, Postgraduate Research Assistant, and Lecturer. In 2017, they joined Intelligent Robots Ltd as Director of Robotics, where they led a team of hardware and software engineers to design and produce a prototype fleet of autonomous mobile robots. From 2019 to 2023, they worked at Karakuri as Lead Technical Architect, Head of Mechatronics, and Senior Robotics Engineer. In 2023, they joined Dexory as a Senior Robotics Engineer.
Richard Williams, PhD has a long and varied educational history. Richard obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of Liverpool between 2012 and 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Liverpool between 2009 and 2012. Richard also obtained a BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners in Software Engineering from Liverpool Community College between 2007 and 2009. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications: Machine Learning Engineering for Production (MLOps) from Coursera in October 2022, and Artificial Intelligence Programming a Robotic Car from Udacity in December 2012.
