Bottneuro
Alois Hopf is currently the CSO & Co-Founder of Bottneuro AG. Previously, they were a PhD Student at the Universitätsspital Basel (USB) from 2017 to 2021, where they developed acellular conduits for peripheral nerve repair and regeneration. Their role included optimizing and establishing a decellularization protocol for human-scale peripheral nerve tissue derived from a pig donor, as well as in-vitro characterisation by analysis removal of immunogenic material, integrity of extracellular matrix, proteomics, ex-vivo transplantations and cell experiments. In 2017, they also completed an internship at ETH Zürich.
Alois Hopf completed a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnologie from ETH Zürich in 2015, after studying there from 2012-2015. Alois then earned a Master of Science in Biotechnologie from ETH Zürich in 2017. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from the University of Basel in 2022.
