Matt Pennington

Matt Pennington is a versatile professional with a diverse background in software engineering and performing arts. Currently serving as a Software Engineer at PhET Interactive Simulations at the University of Colorado Boulder since October 2015, Matt has prior experience as an IT Services Consultant at IBM from September 2011 to November 2015, where responsibilities included developing knowledge articles and analyzing call center performance. In addition to technical expertise, Matt is an accomplished Performing Artist specializing in Double Bass, with ongoing roles at Opera Colorado and the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra since April 2012 and October 2011, respectively. Academically, Matt holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder (2014-2017) and a Master of Music in Double Bass Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (2007-2009), as well as a Bachelor's of Music in Music Performance: Double Bass from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (2003-2007).
