Lahiru Fernando

Lahiru Fernando has a diverse work experience in various roles related to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and data analysis. Lahiru is currently serving as the Country Director (Sri Lanka), APAC RPA Lead, and Practice Head - Document Understanding & AI at Boundaryless Group since November 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Lecturer in Robotic Process Automation (UiPath) at Daffodil International University-DIU, where they played a crucial role in introducing RPA sessions for students. Lahiru joined this initiative in November 2020 and concluded their role in November 2022.

Before their involvement with Daffodil International University-DIU, Lahiru held the position of Executive Lead in Robotic Process Automation at Boundaryless Automation from July 2020 to November 2020. Lahiru also served as a Solution Architect in RPA and a Senior Engineer in Business Intelligence at Pyxle from November 2019 to July 2020 and from May 2018 to November 2019, respectively. Additionally, Lahiru served as a Visiting Lecturer at SLIIT from August 2017 to December 2018.

Earlier in their career, Lahiru worked at Lightspeed Research, where they held various roles including Senior Data Warehouse Analyst from June 2017 to April 2018 and Data Warehouse Analyst from December 2015 to June 2017. In these roles, they were responsible for managing data warehouse release deployments, ensuring data quality and accuracy, and developing data extraction processes.

Lahiru's work experience also includes a role as a Software Developer at Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC from January 2015 to December 2015, where they managed and developed the Management Information System (MIS) and contributed to the upgrade of the Credit Risk Rating system. Lahiru also served as a Data Analyst at the same firm from October 2011 to December 2014.

Overall, Lahiru has gained extensive experience in RPA, data analysis, and software development throughout their career.

Lahiru Fernando has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Systems from SLIIT, which was obtained from 2015 to 2017. They also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Systems from SLIIT, obtained from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, Lahiru obtained a Bsc (Hons) in Computing: Software Engineering from Staffordshire University, from 2008 to 2011, and a Diploma in Computing & Information Technology from the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology, from 2008 to 2009. Lahiru's earliest education is in Business/Commerce, General, which was obtained from Royal College, from 1995 to 2008. Additionally, Lahiru has several certifications from UiPath, including UiPath Certified Automation Business Analyst, UiPath Certified Advanced RPA Developer, and various other UiPath diplomas.
