Peter Galley

Contract Director at Bouygues Energies & Services (UK)

Peter Galley has extensive experience in the facilities management industry. Peter began their career at Carillion as a Project Manager in 2004 and worked their way up to become a Design & Construction Director. Peter then joined inspiredspaces as a New Project Development Manager before moving back to Carillion as an Operations and Compliance Manager.

From 2012 to 2018, Peter served as a Regional Director at Carillion, where they had overall P&L responsibility for the Hard, Soft FM, and Catering Services in two large acute hospitals. Peter also held the position of Head of Estates, overseeing the Hard FM Estates Service for a PFI hospital. Peter successfully restructured the Reactive and Planned Maintenance Services in both roles.

In 2018, Peter joined Bouygues Energies & Services (UK) as a Contract Director, responsible for the Hard and Soft FM, including Catering Services, for four large acute hospitals. Peter led a team of over 750 staff and ensured statutory and mandatory compliance for the contracts.

In 2021, Peter became the Committee Chair of the Healthcare Working Group within the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM). Peter was responsible for bringing together colleagues from the FM and Healthcare professions to provide thought leadership, insight, and CPD on working in the Healthcare Sector and Facilities Management.

In 2022, Peter joined PFI SPV as a Board Director.

Throughout their career, Peter has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for improving service delivery and driving positive change in the facilities management industry.

Peter Galley's education history is as follows:

From 2021 to 2023, they attended Imperial College Business School and completed an NVQ Level 7 in Executive Development Programme. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2007, they attended Aston Business School and obtained a Diploma in Management, focusing on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services. In 2006, they also completed the NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety.

Earlier in their education, from 1996 to 2000, Peter attended the University of Teesside and earned a BSc degree in Construction Management. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Fire Safety (2020 specification) from NEBOSH.

In terms of certifications, Peter Galley became a Chartered Manager Fellow through the Chartered Management Institute in June 2023. Previously, they obtained the PRINCE2™ Foundation Certification Training from AXELOS Global Best Practice in April 2019 and became a Certified Member (CM) of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management in May 2018. In 2001, they also became a Certified Member (CM) of The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Lastly, they received the PRINCE2™ 2017 Practitioner certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice in April 2019.
