Tony Prescott is a Professor of Cognitive Robotics at the University of Sheffield, where research and teaching in the Department of Computer Science have been a focus since September 2007. Prescott is a co-founder and director of BOW Ltd and Consequential Robotics, both of which concentrate on developing robotic solutions for societal benefits. Additionally, Prescott has held roles such as co-organiser of the Convergent Science Network, director of Sheffield Robotics, and visiting research fellow at Bristol Robotics Laboratory. Prescott's academic contributions include significant projects like BIOTACT and ICEA, along with being a distinguished fellow at the Sage Center for the Study of Mind at the University of California Santa Barbara. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Sheffield, an MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence from the University of Aberdeen, and an MA in Psychology from The University of Edinburgh.
