Interim Associate Dean, Chiu School of Business, Business Administration at BOW VALLEY COLLEGE

Andre joined the Chiu School of Business in 2018, instructing both Accounting and Taxation courses. Prior to joining Bow Valley College, Andre held a number of assignments for twenty-one years at Shell Canada Ltd. including, Commercial Finance Manager for the LNG Canada project, a Finance Leadership role at the Scotford Complex in Fort Saskatchewan, Internal Audit, Finance Coordinator at the Lubricants and Blending Plant in Brockville, Ontario, and Supervisor of Stock Accounting.

Andre completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary majoring in Political Science. After university, Andre gained employment in the Food & Beverage industry and attended the Culinary Arts program at SAIT where he successfully completed his first year and earned the Louise McKinney Scholarship. Andre’s interest and passion for the business side of the restaurant industry led him to begin his journey in accounting and finance courses. He eventually gained employment in the Oil & Gas industry where he continued his studies and earned the Certified General Accountants (CGA) designation in 2005. In 2009, Andre completed his MBA at Laurentian University.

In 2005, Andre’s passion for instructing led him to SAIT where he instructed his first course in Management Accounting for the CGA/SAIT partner program. He also has instructed at NAIT, the University of Lethbridge in Edmonton, and ZUFE University in Hangzhou, China. Courses that Andre has instructed since 2005 include Financial & Management Accounting, Taxation, Advanced Corporate Finance, Leadership, Strategic Management, Accounting Theory, Management Auditing, and External Auditing. In 2018, Andre received the “Instructor Excellence Award Nominee 2018” from the SAIT Students Association.
