Kristine Smalcel Pederson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in higher education research, consulting, and strategic planning. Currently serving as a Strategic Planning Partner at Bow Valley College since January 2024 and a Senior Consultant at Academica Group Inc. since May 2015, Kristine specializes in developing strategies for educational institutions. Previous roles include Independent Consulting, where Kristine led significant projects such as supervising field operations for the 2021 Census in Calgary, and consulting for the Alberta Speed Skating Association on organizational design. Kristine has held key positions in enrollment management at Grant MacEwan University and UNBC and was the Director of Admissions & Enrolment Services at Thompson Rivers University. Academically, Kristine holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education Leadership from the University of Calgary, a Master’s degree in European History, and a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Alberta.
