Ernie Bower has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and areas of expertise.

In 1983, they began their career as a Marketing Associate and Intern for Sports Illustrated, where they coordinated the marketing plan for the magazine's sponsorship of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

In 1986, Bower helped found and build the US-ASEAN Business Council, serving as President and CEO from 1995 to 2004. During their tenure, they played a significant role in developing and expanding the organization.

In 2004, Bower established BowerGroupAsia, which has become a leading business advisory services company focused on strategy, government engagement, and deals across Asia. As the President, CEO, and Founder, they lead a team of over 100 employees and experts in 21 countries, providing unparalleled support to clients.

Additionally, in 2009, Bower became Chairman of the Advisory Board for Southeast Asia at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Ernie worked to build the Southeast Asia team and currently holds the position of non-resident Senior Adviser and Chair of the Southeast Asia advisory board.

Bower has also been involved with the Special Olympics, serving as a Member of the Board since 2009.

In 2016, they co-founded AkarAsia, a company that combines knowledge of public policy and government affairs with media networks to help companies succeed in the changing Asian market. As the CEO and Co-Chair, Bower played a key role in developing cross-cutting solutions for businesses.

Through their varied roles and accomplishments, Ernie Bower has demonstrated their expertise in strategy, government engagement, and business development, particularly in the Asian market.

Ernie Bower graduated from Colgate University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. At Colgate, they studied History and English, earning Honors in both fields of study. In the same year, they briefly attended Middlebury College, where they studied Mandarin Chinese, although they did not complete a degree program.
