April M. Smucker

April M. Smucker is the AVP of Planning, Construction & Campus Operations at Bowling Green State University. April has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, starting as a computer aided design drafter and working their way up to their current position.

Smucker spent the majority of their career at Kingston Healthcare, where they were the Director of Facilities and Construction. April oversaw all aspects of the company's construction projects, from start to finish. In this role, they were responsible for managing budgets, schedules, and construction crews.

In 2016, Smucker left Kingston Healthcare to join ProMedica as their Vice President of Construction. In this role, they oversaw the construction of ProMedica's new hospital in Toledo, Ohio. The project was completed on time and under budget, thanks in part to Smucker's management style.

Smucker is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). April has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Toledo.

April M. Smucker completed their Bachelor of Engineering at The University of Toledo and then went on to earn their Master of Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. April has also completed certification programs in board member education from Aly Sterling Philanthropy and in leadership and advocacy from the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce.
