Imtiaz Chowdhury

Imtiaz Chowdhury has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Imtiaz is currently working as an Engineering Manager at BOXT, starting in 2022.

Prior to their current role, Imtiaz was the Co-Founder & Chairman of Reading Muslim, a voluntary non-profit organization aiming to unify the Muslim community and improve the quality of life in Greater Reading. Imtiaz held this role from 2018 onwards.

In 2022, Imtiaz was the Head of Technology at Blexr, where they built and developed high-performance cross-functional remote engineering teams. Imtiaz focused on fostering a culture of creativity, autonomy, and growth by challenging the status quo.

From 2020 to 2022, Imtiaz served as the VP of Information Systems at TOCA Social, where they led a team in building an ecosystem of serverless AWS microservices for the business. Their focus was on delivering quality at pace while ensuring security and scalability.

In 2019, Imtiaz was the Head of Engineering at Hometree, acting as the CTO and overseeing strategy development, budget/resource management, and personnel management. Imtiaz also played a key role in infrastructure changes to optimize budgets and drive growth.

From 2015 to 2019, Imtiaz held the position of Head of Engineering at Verv, a tech startup that received investment from Centrica's social investment arm, Ignite. Imtiaz was responsible for personnel and program management, technical leadership, and strategy development.

Earlier in their career, Imtiaz founded Western Pixel in 2007, a digital marketing specialist focusing on Google Cloud solutions. Imtiaz also served as the Head of Digital Technologies at Brand786 from 2013 to 2015, overseeing technical capabilities and IT infrastructure.

Imtiaz began their career at National Instruments in 2009, first as an Applications Engineer providing customer support, and later as an Inside Sales Engineer. Imtiaz supported customers using NI products for test, control, and measurement.

Imtiaz Chowdhury began their education at Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School from 2001 to 2005. Imtiaz then attended Little Heath School from 2004 to 2006, where they pursued A Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics. In 2006, they enrolled at the University of Reading and successfully completed a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering in 2009.
