Lance Teo Courtney

Lance Teo Courtney is an experienced researcher with a strong background in molecular biology and synthetic biology applications. Currently serving as a Research Intern at the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research, Lance conducts molecular analyses of fruit traits. Additionally, as a Resident Scientist at Manylabs, involvement includes the SynTree project focusing on monitoring plant stress through synthetic biology. Lance leads research projects at California State University, Sacramento, aimed at analyzing gene expression in plants and has previously worked in various research roles, including studying mutations in the Microbial Genetics Lab and host-pathogen interactions in the Evolutionary Ecology of Fishes Lab. Lance's military experience includes roles as a Technical Sergeant in the US Air Force Reserve and a Journeyman in the United States Air Force. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from California State University-Sacramento and an Associate of Applied Sciences in Aerospace Ground Equipment Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
