Jennifer Kopazna

Director of Facility Based Services at Boys & Girls Village

Jennifer Kopazna received her undergraduate degree in Family & Community Services from Michigan State University and began her career in Philadelphia providing in-home services to children and families. In 2005 Jennifer returned to school to obtain her master’s degree in Social Work from Widener University. She gained her clinical experience within a variety of settings including outpatient, in-home, and residential and received her clinical license in 2008. After moving back to CT in 2015, Jennifer began her career with Boys & Girls Village as the Program Manager for the Extended Day Treatment Program (EDT) and in 2018 was promoted to Director of Facility Based Services, overseeing the Outpatient Clinic as well.

She has always been dedicated to working with children and their families and through this work grew a strong passion in working with individuals from a trauma informed perspective leading her to certification in TF-CBT and CBITS that she implements along with her staff in the EDT and Outpatient Clinic programs. In addition, Jennifer is invested in training other professionals in learning and developing skills to approach their work through a trauma-informed lens as a Risking Connection Trainer. She also sits on a Multi-Disciplinary Team designed to coordinate the with other mental health professionals, detectives, medical providers, and attorneys to ensure prompt investigation of suspected cases of child sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, trafficking, and witnesses to violence to reduce the impact of trauma.

In her free time Jennifer enjoys going antiquing with her partner and hiking with her two very energetic dogs.
