Amanda Bisgaard has a diverse work experience in the nonprofit sector. Amanda currently holds the position of Director of Volunteer Strategy & Engagement at Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Prior to this, they worked as a Volunteer Project Manager at the same organization.
Before joining Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Amanda worked as a Faculty Member at Georgia Center for Nonprofits, where they designed, developed, and delivered biannual Volunteer Management series and facilitated sessions on effective volunteer management.
Amanda also has experience at Hands On Atlanta, where they served as a Nonprofit Services Senior Manager, managing food pantry partners, AmeriCorps members, and engaging volunteers. Amanda also held the position of Nonprofit Services Manager, organizing and overseeing meal packing and distribution sites for families affected by COVID-19 and managing site coordinators and AmeriCorps members. In addition, they worked as a Family Literacy Program Manager, implementing early literacy acquisition programs and managing volunteer facilitators.
Amanda's earlier work experience includes roles at the American Red Cross, where they served as a Senior Volunteer Services Specialist and a Volunteer Services Specialist. In these roles, they developed volunteer initiatives, recruited and trained volunteers, and supported chapter operations.
Furthermore, Amanda has been involved with AmeriCorps NCCC, serving as an Americorps NCCC FEMA Corps member from August 2014 to May 2015.
Amanda Bisgaard attended The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood. Additionally, in May 2015, they obtained The Congressional Award from the Corporation for National and Community Service. Amanda also received The President's Volunteer Service Award, Bronze Award from the same institution in May 2015.
