Anna Kawar

National Director, Quality Improvement & Impact at Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Anna Kawar has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Anna began their career in 2006 at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, where they served as a Faculty & Fellowship Program Specialist for four years. In 2012, they worked as an Education Pioneers Summer Graduate Fellow at Uncommon Schools.

From 2013 to 2017, Anna worked at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Anna held the role of Associate, Networked Improvement, and later became the Director of the Tennessee Early Literacy Network. Their responsibilities included coaching and training the TN Dept. of Ed. leadership team in improvement science and network-building tools and methods.

In 2017, Anna co-founded an organization called Leading Through Connection and served as the Chief Growth Officer until 2019. Anna then joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as the Director of Organizational Development, supporting Clubs across the NE region. Anna later became the Senior Director, Implementation & Impact, and currently holds the position of National Director, Quality Improvement & Impact. Their role involves building national networks of Clubs to share practices and solve problems collectively.

Anna Kawar completed their education with the following chronological history. Anna obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Health and International Relations from Cornell University, attending from 2002 to 2006. Later, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a dual degree program at Duke University. Anna earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Non-profit Management and Social Entrepreneurship from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Additionally, during the same period, they obtained a Master of Public Policy (MPP) with a focus on Social Policy from the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy. Anna also acquired two additional certifications, including Foundations for Connection from Leading Through Connection in November 2017, and a Certified Mediator certification from the Penninsula Conflict Resolution Center in January 2017.
