Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area

Our Mission To inspire and enable all young people in Central Texas, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. About Us Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area is the leading youth development agency in Central Texas—serving more than 7,100 registered members each year. With 30 Clubs and four outreach programs across Austin, Bastrop and Elgin, we provide a safe place, caring adults and high-impact development programs that help local economically disadvantaged youth ages 6–18 reach their full potential during out-of-school time. Since opening our doors in Austin in 1967, we have increased our impact and established ourselves as positive difference-makers in the lives and neighborhoods of those we serve. During the past three years, more than 99% of Club member seniors graduated from high school on time—compared to 84% in AISD and 88% across Texas. Club kids also achieve better grades and higher school attendance rates, and they’re more likely to attend college after graduation than their non-member peers. Each day, we aim to inspire and celebrate our community’s young people—especially those who need us most—and work to provide them with the tools and opportunities to build great futures, one day at a time. Emphasizing academic success, good character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles, our Club programs, services, and opportunities promote and enhance the development of youth by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and pride in their communities. Nationally, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America serves millions of youth across 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and on domestic and international U.S. military bases. Of the millions of kids and teens impacted by the Boys & Girls Clubs, 57% believe that being part of the Club saved their life.
