Gareth Burns

Gareth Burns is a seasoned executive in the energy and investment sectors, currently serving as Vice President at bp since January 2023, leading bp ventures in investing in transformative technology companies. With over two decades at Equinor, Gareth held various leadership roles, including Vice President of Equinor Ventures and Senior Vice President, where responsibilities encompassed corporate venture capital and global business development strategies. In addition to these positions, Gareth is the Vice Chair of the Board and chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at Stewardship, demonstrating a strong commitment to governance. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University and Fellowship from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
