Rick Avendaño

Rick Avendaño is an accomplished engineering leader currently serving as Head of Engineering at Omni-Sci Labs, a venture studio focused on clean energy and alternative technologies, where Rick oversees an organization of approximately 100 engineers and scientists. Prior to this role, Rick was the Chief Technology Officer for a startup within Omni-Sci Labs. Rick's experience includes significant contributions at Tesla, where Rick held multiple roles, including Staff Site Reliability Engineer and Tech Lead on major projects such as the Hornsdale Power Reserve Battery Project. Rick's background features expertise in systems reliability, infrastructure, software engineering, and teaching, with experience at organizations such as Mission Economic Development Agency and Moringa School. Rick holds a degree from the University of Minnesota.
