Slava Akmaev

Slava Akmaev currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief AI Officer at BPGbio, Inc., a position held since June 2025, following a role as a freelance advisor from March to July 2025. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Scipher Therapeutics at Scipher Medicine from September 2019 to February 2025, as well as a senior leadership role at Valo as SVP of Computational Biosciences. Slava Akmaev co-founded Berg, LLC and held various positions including SVP, Chief Analytics Officer, and Head of Berg Analytics from January 2012 to April 2019. Academic qualifications include a PhD and MS in Applied Mathematics obtained from the University of Colorado Boulder between 1996 and 2000.
