Barend Venter is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the renewable energy sector. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at GoGetIt and Vice President of ESG at Alliant Communities since May 2024, Barend has a robust entrepreneurial background as the Founder and Board Member of Blue Sky Utility, established in 2009, which specializes in multitenant retail solar systems. Additionally, Barend co-founded BPi, a turn-key solar energy contractor, in 2008 and holds the position of Chairman of the Board. Previous roles include Owner and President of iSoft-usa from 2005 to 2011 and Co-founder, Shareholder, and Managing Director of iGrade (PTY) Ltd from 2000 to 2006. Barend holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Management from the University of Pretoria.
