Brigit Helms

Brigit Helms is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in social entrepreneurship and global development. Currently serving as an Official Member of Forbes Nonprofit Council and Executive Director of the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, Brigit has led initiatives that have accelerated over 1,000 social enterprises impacting over 400 million lives worldwide. As CEO of Helmshart LLC, Brigit focuses on leveraging technology for positive change in developing markets. Brigit also holds board positions with AlphaMundi Foundation and BRAC USA, promoting investment in social enterprises and anti-poverty solutions, respectively. Previous roles include Vice President of Technical Services at DAI and Senior Advisor at the Inter-American Development Bank, among others. Brigit earned a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and holds an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, as well as a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University.
