Robert-Jan Koopmans is an experienced propulsion program manager currently at Bradford Space since February 2021, specializing in propulsion systems for aerospace applications. Prior roles include Head of Department for Chemical Propulsion Systems and research scientist at FOTEC Forschungs- und Technologietransfer GmbH, focusing on low-thrust chemical propulsion systems using green propellants. Robert-Jan has also contributed to research as an experimental researcher and Ph.D. student at the University of Southampton, developing computational fluid dynamics models. Early career experience includes teaching economics and mathematics at secondary schools, as well as internships and engineering roles focused on project planning and analysis. Robert-Jan holds a Ph.D. in Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics, alongside advanced degrees in Space Systems Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
