Roman Kochan has over 20 years of work experience in software engineering and technical consulting. Roman is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at BrainChip Holdings Limited since March 2018. Prior to this, they were a Senior Member of the Technical Staff and Principal Engineer at TC Communications from July 2016 to March 2018. In this role, they led a project for developing a next-generation 10G Carrier Ethernet 2.0 networking switch and managed the project schedule.

Roman was responsible for evaluating the performance of Network Access Servers and various wireless products and also evaluated the performance of the cloud ecosystem (WD My Cloud 3).
Roman began their career at Cisco Systems, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer in March 1996 and worked there for over 15 years, until October 2011. In this role, they were responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of various data link layer protocol features across multiple switch and router platforms. Roman also developed LACP for the Catalyst 6500 and 7600 switches.
Roman Kochan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from California State University, Long Beach. Additionally, they have also attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo for further studies in Computer Science.
